National President of All India Marathi Press Conference M.D. Sheikh drew the attention of Deputy Chief Minister Ajitdada Pawar on the issue of journalist rest house, -Sandesh Shah

Indapur, Dt.  4 February 24 CST in Mumbai  National President of All India Marathi Journalist Council M.  D.  Sheikh did.  In this regard, the Deputy Chief Minister of the state Ajitdada Pawar was visited by National President M.  D.  Sheikh gave a statement and discussed in detail for fifteen minutes.  At this time, Deputy Chief Minister Ajitdada Pawar assured the delegation that a positive decision will be taken after an urgent consultation with Minister of Public Works Department Ravindra Chavan in Mumbai.  On this occasion, National President of All India Marathi Press Conference M.  D Shaikh, General Secretary Arun Kumar Mundada,Pune District President Dr.  Sandesh Shah, founder member of Indapur Sangh Angad Tavre, Balasaheb Jamdar, Santosh Jamdar, journalist Shankar Pawar from Pandharpur were present.

In this regard, National President M.  D.  Sheikh said, the fourth pillar of Indian democracy is journalism and journalists play an important role in journalism.  But the state government is neglecting the convenience of the journalists.  For more than last 30 years C.  S.  T.  In front of the station, adjacent to Azad Maidan is a rest house of about 8 rooms belonging to the Public Works Department.  In the said rest house, a small 8-room rest house was functioning under the ownership of the Public Works Department to provide accommodation to the journalists of the state after coming to Mumbai for various works in the Ministry.  But the said rest house without any reason

  d.  Closed from December 19, 2019 under the name of repair.  Good beds, mattresses in the rooms have been removed.  The executive engineer, deputy engineer and branch engineer there are arbitrarily giving private people of their choice to use this rest house and journalists are being obstructed here.  The purpose for which this rest house was functioning for journalists,But that intention is being dropped.  Due to this, injustice is being done to the journalists coming from the state and the journalists have to face unnecessary pain and expenses.  The rest house has been closed to journalists and the rest house is being handed over to the Maharashtra State Infrastructure Corporation, which was established on 22 May 2023.  Interestingly, Air India's place at Nariman Point has been taken for this corporation.  However, the facility that journalists have been getting for the last 30 years has been closed.  Interestingly, a statement has also been given to Ravindra Chavan, Minister of Public Works Department on behalf of the council, but no action has been taken.  So it is seen that the minister of the concerned department has no control over the officer.  It is necessary to investigate the arbitrary conduct of the concerned officials.  Therefore justice to journalists as before

All India Marathi Press Conference complained to all concerned to get it, but it was of no use.  On the contrary, the concerned department got angry and closed this rest house.  Due to this, our journalists who come from all over the state to work in the Ministry are facing a lot of inconvenience.Since there is no accommodation and food facility for journalists in Mumbai, which is the financial capital of the state, the government should urgently build a new journalist building to facilitate the journalists or keep the said 8-room general rest house reserved for journalists, out of which 3 rooms should be reserved for our council member journalists.  D.  Sheikh did.
After a detailed discussion with Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Dada Pawar on the said issues, Mr.  Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar clarified that he is positive that Pawar will not leave the journalists in the wind but after discussing this in detail with Minister of Public Works Ravindra Chavan and all concerned, the demands of the council will be met and justice will be done.
On this occasion, Solapur Collector Kumar Ashirwad, MLA Sanjaymama Shinde, Police Commissioner Dr.  Rajan Mane, NCP District President Deepakaba Salunkhe Patil were present.
