 Shri 108 Muni Amoghakirti Maharaj asserted that Pune is the home of learning and it is the need of the hour to become an important center of culture, education and culture of India-year-old Digambar Jain Humad society in the city.

 He was speaking on behalf of the Federation of Humid Jain Samaj International Organization at the Pune divisional level meeting organized at Sri 1008 Bhagwan Mahavir Digambar Jain Mandir Hall, Manikbagh, Pune. On this occasion, the Federation's new Shiromani Patron and State General Secretary of the Federation Dr. Ravikiran Shah was felicitated by Federation National President Vipin Gandhi and General Secretary Mahendra Bundy.Amoghakirti Maharaj further said, Humad Samaj was formed due to Hemchandra Muni Maharaj, a disciple of Acharya Maghanandi Maharaj. Humad means a society with intelligent, thoughtful and courageous qualities and this society has given the country a visionary industrialist like Walchand Hirachand who made an agro-industrial revolution. The population of the society is only 1 lakh 20 thousand and there are sects like Dasa and Bisa Humd in the society. But their 18 gotras are the same. Therefore, it is necessary to get rid of these differences and unite the society. Against that backdrop, the work of the Federation is ideal, commendable, constructive. He made an important suggestion that the federation should also set up a big cultural center at Khed Brahma, near Idar, its native place in Gujarat, so that once a year the whole community would gather there to have the darshan of their deity, the goddess.

 On this occasion, President of Humad Jain Federation International Organization Vipin Gandhi said, Federation was established in the year 2007 and currently 4 thousand women and 10 thousand men are working to organize the society like needle thread. An international standard humad center will be established in Pune and it will provide Digambar Jain education, culture and ritual center, well-equipped hostel for boys and girls, old age home, health temple, ascetic accommodation and food system etc. Children are being given scholarships and critical illness patients are being helped for operations. Crores of rupees are required for this centre.
